you can’t stop it with a gun
“…a Europe which tells itself that, say, the Enlightenment Period is closely connected to its present day institutions, a Europe which acknowledges that it took many, many years to impose taxes, to develop instituitions that work, to create a collective idea of a nation state, will, however, curiously insist that European activities in Africa only 60 years ago no longer bear any significant relevance to the present day.”

Oh shit. Just got around to this month’s Animal Man. Guess who showed up?… If you’re not already on board this thing, catch up before it’s too late. Trade hot off the presses… NEW ANIMAL MAN, Vol. 1
this is how i knew that i had a soul crushing lack of john constantine in my life, and that i’d be reading jeff lemire’s run on JL dark. Who the hell indeed…:)
i don’t think there has ever been another book/series that had such an impact on my life as the dark tower series
which i realize sounds strange since it’s like… a spaghetti western inter-dimensional fantasy horror and the character i relate to the most is a middle-aged heroin addict from new york… but
okay my love for this series makes more sense in my head
it’s just so great and the characters are so raw and the story bleeds into real life and i just will never get over it
i still find myself really disturbed when i think about the lobster creature eating rolands foot…and its been decade(s?) since i read that book
